How the Song Mastering Tool works

Load a WAV, MP3, M4A/AAC or FLAC mix (format support depends on your browser) and it is decoded and processed entirely on your device with the Web Audio API. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on our servers; only the slider settings are remembered in your browser.

The chain is a high-pass filter, three-band tone EQ, glue compressor, saturation, mid/side width, a push stage and a ceiling limiter. The export renders the same chain offline, trims the processing latency, runs a look-ahead brick-wall limiter at your ceiling and writes a dithered 16-bit WAV at your device's sample rate. "Match −14 LUFS" measures integrated loudness to ITU-R BS.1770-4 (gated) and adjusts the push gain to land at −14 LUFS. Peak readings are sample peak, not oversampled true peak.

It is a handy polish desk for demos and rough mixes, not a replacement for a mastering engineer. When you're happy with a song, search for it on WorldBestSong and let listeners rate it. More tools are listed under Music Tools.
